I have stumbled upon the answer to the Target Store mystery. The Southdale Target was recently demolished. It was there one day and gone the next. According to the highly knowledgeable 6th graders at South View, it was more cost effective to tear down the building in preparation for construction of the new luxurious 2-story Super Target Store.
It should be grand!

I'm so excited for the new Target!!! We only have to drive eight blocks then instead of the grueling 10 blocks down to the Penn/494 Target. Woot woot. Save the gas money to use on M&Ms.
The Target in Burnsville is getting a similar makeover!
